About Brownie
Brownie — 63 lbs | Fostered in NYC | Transport Available Throughout the Northeast Brownie is a beautiful brindle girl with a coat that looks more like a salted caramel swirl than a chocolate brownie. At 63 pounds, she is a young, energetic dog with a playful personality and a very sweet nature. She loves long walks, playing fetch with rubber balls, exploring, and enjoying enrichment like stuffed Kongs and long-lasting chews. Peanut butter is one of her favorite treats. Brownie is crate trained and thrives with routine and structure. She is very food motivated, which helps with training, and she is not food aggressive. Brownie is still working on impulse control and can be mouthy when she becomes excited or overstimulated. She has made progress in foster care but will need an experienced, patient adopter who can continue providing structure, redirection, and training. She was reported to do well with dogs in the shelter and has had some testing outside the shelter with smaller dogs. Because of her energy level, she would likely do best with a larger, calm dog if placed in a multi-dog home, with slow introductions. Brownie would do best in a home without children and in a cat-free home. Dog parks are not a good fit for her, and she does best in calmer environments. She is affectionate, playful, and loyal, and with the right guidance and consistency, she has the potential to be a wonderful companion. Brownie is currently fostered in NYC but can be transported to the right home anywhere in the Northeast.
