Meet Zippy - the three-legged wonder with a heart of gold! Zippy is an adorable one-year-old petite black lab mix with soft eyes and the sweetest heart. At first, he can be a little shy, but once he gets to know you, he transforms into the ultimate Velcro dog-ready to be by your side for all the snuggles, cuddles, and adventures life has to offer. Zippy loves affection and attention, and he dreams of finding a family who will let him stick close (in the best way possible!). Zippy came to ARF Hamptons from Haseya's New Beginning Animal Rescue in Louisiana, thanks to our rescue partner, BISSELL Pet Foundation. He was found with an open fracture to his back leg, which was amputated, and he spent time in a foster home down south recovering before making his way to New York. His foster mom says: "Zippy is just that... WONDERFUL. He's super dog friendly, cat friendly, toddler friendly, and even baby friendly-he would happily snuggle next to my 5-month-old all day. He is shy and timid at first, but he's so caring and loving. He's going to be a true Velcro dog for the family lucky enough to adopt him. He's calm, quiet, and a sweet companion who just wants to be loved." Now, with three legs, Zippy doesn't let anything slow him down! He can navigate stairs independently but prefers a little boost in and out of the car so he feels safe. Zippy is looking for a patient, compassionate home that will continue to guide him with ongoing training and lots of love. Three legs may be all he has, but he has a lifetime of love and loyalty to give-and a little boost for the car is a small price to pay for a friend this incredible.
