About Freddie
Sweet, loving, and absolutely adorable....Meet our Freddie! This precious puppy came into our rescue when we were contacted by a good friend at The Carson Shelter who asked if we could help. The puppy was set to be euthanized the next day. He was brought into the shelter with his mom and brother where they were immediately separated. All three of them got adopted individually by different families, but one of the brothers was brought back the next day after he was adopted. The adopters claimed he was shaking a lot and felt it was seizures. This "claim" they made put him on the list to be euthanized as the shelter does not have the means to handle that diagnosis/testing. Once we got the word about this little guy, we headed down to the shelter and got him out immediately. He was so scared, all alone, and not knowing what happened to his family. We got him straight to our vet and then to a neurologist who did testing and diagnosed him with Cerebellum Hypoplasia which is a "non-progressive" neurological condition where the cerebellum which is responsible for coordination and balance, fails to develop properly. We named this sweet boy Freddie and he is an 8 month old, Maltese/Poodle mix (best guess?) who is the most loving little guy ever! Freddie has mild symptoms and acts like any other happy puppy! He can walk, run, and play perfectly fine and can keep up with all his doggy friends. We are looking for a home with another sweet and playful dog and owners that are not gone long hours during the day. Freddie requires a single level home, no stairs, no uncovered pool. One or two low back porch steps are ok. He takes a day or two to warm up and feel safe which is understandable after all he has been through, but once he can feel that love...he is your little shadow. Freddie deserves the best forever home out there and we won't stop until we find it! Freddie is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 We only adopt in So California as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.
