Winston has megaesophagus (an enlarged esophagus) which causes him to vomit or regurgitate food or water if he does not eat or drink upright in a specially made Bailey Chair. There are no surgical options available. Winston recently got aspiration pneumonia after a dental and neuter. He needs his water mixed with a thickener so he can swallow without throwing up. He gets Viagra (Sildenafil) an hour before he eats to help the food get past his esophagus & sphincter to his stomach. He also needs his teeth brushed daily since he's susceptible to aspiration pneumonia. We rescued him from a shelter right before he was going to be euthanized. At just 7 years old, Winston deserves the best care possible, and we’re doing everything we can to support him.
