About Peanutbutter

Peanutbutter is a three-year-old Spaniel with an easy-going, affectionate temperament. He adapts to the mood in the house—content to lounge on the couch or cot, but ready to get up and play if that's what the pack wants. Peanutbutter tends to be a follower and will join in whatever's happening. He starts off a bit shy but warms up both to people and most dogs once he’s had some time. As Peanutbutter continues to adjust, his playful, quirky side—typical of fox hounds—begins to show. He’s more comfortable with dogs similar to his own medium size and does best with those, though he has learned to get along with bigger dogs here. Since Peanutbutter can be selective about doggy friends, a meet and greet is required for any current dogs in the home. He does well with kids aged 10 and up, but it’s unknown how he is with cats. Because Peanutbutter can climb, a secure 6-foot privacy fence is a must—standard kennels or underground fencing aren't suitable. He’s currently managing idiopathic epilepsy with medication and will need an owner committed to keeping up his care. Peanutbutter is looking for a family that will include him in their daily lives and welcome him as a true member of the home. Visits are by appointment only. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
