About Monkey
This could be the start of something paw-some. Monkey is a Terrier who arrived in March 2023 along with another dog through an owner surrender. While he initially took a few months to relax and get comfortable in his new environment, Monkey has become a very loving companion once he knows you. He can be selective about the people he bonds with and may grumble when picked up, but his affectionate side shines through when he feels safe. Monkey does well with other dogs, but he is not suitable for homes with cats or children. His past experiences have made him wary, so patience and understanding are essential for his happiness. A fenced-in yard is a must for Monkey’s new home—underground fencing and yard kennels won’t be considered, though apartment dwellers might be exceptions depending on the dog’s needs. Most importantly, Monkey should be part of the family, living indoors surrounded by love. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Monkey
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Terriers do well in homes where they get plenty of interaction and mental stimulation. They adapt to both apartments and houses as long as their exercise needs are met, but fenced yards are ideal for their playtime and safety.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
While Terriers are small, they are energetic and appreciate daily walks and opportunities to explore a secure outdoor space. A securely fenced yard is best, although they can also thrive with regular leash walks.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Terriers can be suitable for homes with older children who know how to interact respectfully. Their spirited nature may be overwhelming for very young kids.
