About Russ
Russ is a steady, loyal Bluetick Coonhound with seven years of wisdom behind his gentle eyes. He isn’t the flashy, high-energy type—Russ is all about being a quiet companion and savoring the good things in life: a sunny nap spot, long leisurely walks, someone close by. Originally adopted from Mending Spirits when he was two, Russ lived with a loving family until housing changes left him in need of a new home. He’s house trained and polite, perfectly trustworthy when left on his own, and he knows his commands—although he enjoys taking a moment to think things through (classic hound logic). Russ gets along with other dogs, but prefers not to share his food or treats. He has a strong prey drive, so a home without cats or small animals is essential. He’s a calm, independent soul at home, quiet except when he wants to come back inside or during car rides. Russ is best suited to a calm household—no rentals—and would pair well with older, respectful children who understand his quiet nature. If you want a devoted companion past the drama of puppyhood but who still loves to get outdoors, Russ is waiting for you. Click apply to start the adoption process.
