Meet Dottie – 9 Weeks Old & Blossoming (Near Kansas City) Dottie is a 9-week-old Belgian Malinois puppy near Kansas City who has been quietly blossoming more each day. When she first arrived, she was very timid and would bark nervously when the resident dogs approached her playpen. She just needed time to decompress and feel safe — and once she did, her confidence started to grow beautifully. The vet joked that while Kit is throwing the party, Dottie is the one calling 911 — but Dottie has proven she's braver than anyone expected. She no longer barks out of fear and is settling in more comfortably with each passing day. She eats well and doesn't rush her meals, and while collars were a big adjustment at first (lots of scratching and “what is this?!” moments), she's getting used to them. Leash walking and potty training are still works in progress. Those early trips outside were overwhelming — she would just freeze in the grass — but she's learning that the world isn't so scary after all. Dottie loves a soft dog bed and the security of routine. She's thoughtful, sensitive, and steadily building resilience. With a patient, encouraging home committed to positive training, she's going to grow into a deeply loyal and devoted partner.
