Daylily is a 5-year-old Beagle with the softest eyes and the sweetest little hound heart. She made her way to us from Georgia after being found as a stray. Based on her condition and demeanor, it’s likely she spent her early years being used for breeding until someone decided she was “too old.” Too old? For what? Certainly not for love. Since arriving, Daylily has shown us exactly who she is — and she is lovely. Gentle. Affectionate. Easygoing. The kind of dog who leans into you like she’s been waiting her whole life for that exact moment. She doesn’t ask for much… just a soft place to nap, a kind hand to pet her, and maybe a snack (she is a Beagle, after all). She’s currently living in our volunteer dorm, and it takes approximately 30 seconds to fall in love with her. She has that classic Beagle sweetness — the soulful gaze, the quiet little tail wags, the way she follows her nose and then looks back to make sure you’re still there. Despite all the love she’s getting here, Daylily is still waiting for the one thing that’s truly hers — a forever family. She’s ready to trade her past for couch naps, slow walks, warm beds, and a home where she’ll never be “too old” for anything ever again.
