The Haywood County Animal Services Adoption Center is located at 453 Jones Cove Road, Clyde, NC 28721. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 12pm - 5pm and Saturday 12pm - 4pm. Closed Sundays. About Plott Hound Dogs

Plott Hounds are powerful, determined scent hounds and the state dog of North Carolina. They are the only coonhound breed not descended from English Foxhounds, instead tracing their ancestry to German hunting dogs. Their brindle coat and tenacious personality make them distinctive among hound breeds.

Adopting a Plott Hound brings a loyal, courageous companion who is gentle and affectionate at home. They are great with children, friendly with other dogs, and devoted to their family. Their moderate energy and steady temperament make them adaptable family pets.
