Hi, I'm Roscoe 🧡 I didn't end up at the shelter because I did anything wrong -- my previous owner couldn't find housing that would allow me. When I first walked through those shelter doors, I was terrified and completely shut down. The noise and chaos were overwhelming, and I just didn't know how to cope. But that's not the real me. Outside of that environment, I'm a smart, energetic, lively, and incredibly sweet boy who loves to run, play with other dogs, and be close to my humans. I've been spending time at K9-1 Training, and I'm happier than ever. With patience and kindness, I've shown my playful, affectionate personality again. I love people, have done well with cats, and would do best in a home with kids 8+. I can be very scared at the vet, but with some sedation and a muzzle, I allow them to do what's needed. We found out how much I hate the vet on the same day I was diagnosed with a heart murmur and mast cell, don't let that scare you away though! With the help of some meds I am just like any other happy pup! What I really deserve is space to run, a yard, maybe a dog sibling to share adventures with... and my humans close by. I don't ask for much. Just patience. Stability. Love. The yard is to play, but also to go potty, I am housebroken! I promise that once I feel safe, you'll get the very best of me -- the sweet, loyal, playful, loving boy I've always been- I'm worth it. Requirements: Martingale Collar, Children 8+ can be scared.All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
