His abuse was evident in Scarring all over his gorgeous black coat. It took over a week for him to leave the driveway. He would look for the furthest corner or escape, so overcome by fear. Fast forward to today, he’s the sweetest, gentlest love bug there is. He seeks affection and gives it freely. He’s so submissive and rolls o er for belly rubs and leans in to be held tightly in your arms. While he does still love his “safe space,” aka crate, if you are on the couch or in bed, next to you is his first choice. Other than that he really loves his cozy little den (crate) or curling up in the tightest ball on the couch in a sunny spot. He’s so quiet and reserved. But he does get occasional bursts of glee and run around the yard just overwhelmed with delight. It’s the sweetest thing to see and also can be amazing- he can randomly do flips or 360’s then it’s all over. It’s like he reminds us all how much he loves life, despite his quiet day to day disposition! His best gal is Bessie- she’s a stocky pittie that doubles as cow. She is listed separately, but these two would love to stick together, although it’s not mandatory. While these two seem like such an unlikely pair, he must love her confidence and sass- they play and play and then sleep for 20 hrs. He occasionally likes to just roam the yard on a warm day and he does also occasionally enjoy a walk and branching out but never anything too public or with too much chaos or noise. But, Buddha will tell you exactly what he wants. He will not leave his den if it’s raining and you will literally have to leash him to show him it wasn't just a suggestion. Then he will slump and go…picture Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. But, he will not potty in his crate, he simply doesn’t love the cold or rain. He’s such an easy boy, really- even his potty breaks are quick and to the point and he promptly returns to his crate, by choice. He loves lots of blankets and comfort. He loves chews and is very treat driven. He’s the quiet one in the corner that surprises you with just how kind and affectionate, how funny and quirky … but only randomly and on their terms. He’s a perfect gentleman otherwise, and would be perfect in a quiet, calm home as that’s his vibe. You could do 3 straight days of movie marathon and this boy wouldn’t move from your lap. He’s the most sweet, content, quiet & calm boy, but if he’s sees some stranger lurking outside, he will let you know! And if you are super late to dinner, he will also alert you of that, too. Other than that, you may not even know he’s there!
