Hi... I'm Miny I'm a 1-year-old Retriever mix, and my journey hasn't always been an easy one. I was rescued along with four other dogs from Black Dog Rescue. When we arrived, we weren't in good shape. We were sick with ehrlichia, under the weather, and honestly... very, very scared of people. It took us a long time to understand that hands can be gentle and voices can be kind. I didn't know what it meant to feel safe at first. I would watch from a distance, unsure and nervous. But the patient humans here gave me space, soft words, and time to heal - both my body and my heart. Now? I'm a different girl. I may still be a little shy when we first meet, but once I know you're kind, I start to show my sweet, tender personality. I've learned that love doesn't hurt. I've learned that belly rubs are pretty nice. I've learned that I don't have to be afraid anymore. At 1 year old, I'm past the tiny puppy stage, but I still have so much life and love to give. I would do best with a patient family who understands that trust is something special - something we build together. Once you earn mine, I promise it will be the most loyal, gentle love you've ever known. I've fought hard to get healthy. I've worked hard to be brave.
