About Clarabelle
This Harlequin Great Dane goddess joins us from the Louisiana SPCA thanks to our rescue partner BISSELL Pet Foundation, and at just 4 years old, Clarabelle has perfected the art of being both majestic and profoundly dopey. Clarabelle looks like a Holstein cow who accidentally wandered into a runway show. Her markings are stunning. Her legs go on for days. Her head is approximately the size of a small ottoman. And yet, behind all that grandeur, lives the soul of a floppy, slightly confused baby deer. At a whopping 115 pounds, she is the perfect size for a teddy bear to ride into battle. Or, more realistically, the perfect size to lean her entire body weight against you because she forgot she is not, in fact, a lap dog. Her energy? Big goof. She trots. She galumphs. She offers you her paw like a distinguished lady and then immediately trips over it. She has that classic Great Dane combination of elegance and "oops." Clarabelle is sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully people-oriented. She wants to be near you - preferably draped across your personal space like a living weighted blanket. She is looking for a home that appreciates: very large cuddle sessions cow-print couture dramatic slow-motion flying drool a dog who doubles as furniture In return, you'll get the kind of love only a giant dog can give - the lean-in, full-body, "you are my whole world" kind. If you've ever dreamed of sharing your life with a spotted, statuesque, slightly dopey queen... Clarabelle is ready to gently clomp her way into your heart. **Clarabelle is going to have surgery at ARF mid-March to fix her cherry eye. ARF is providing this surgery - it will not be an additional expense for her adopter.
