About River
River is a gentle, affectionate dog who finds peace and joy outdoors. Open spaces seem to bring out her adventurous side, and she explores with quiet curiosity. She startles at loud noises but responds to calm, patient people by warming up and trusting deeply. Indoors, River is still finding her footingâshe isnât fully settled inside yet, but sheâs made big progress, coming when called and actively seeking out human friendship more and more. Riverâs early life was tough. After being abandoned in a neighborhood with her daughter, she had several litters before rescue. When her family was found, she brought her puppies onto a porch, marking the start of her new chapter. During her rescue, it was discovered sheâd been shot; she needed surgery on her eye and made a strong recovery. Through all this, sheâs shown resilience, moving from running away at every opening to building real trust. Today, River no longer tries to escape, but she gravitates to the outdoors and will do best in a home where she gets focused attention and plenty of time outside, away from a lot of other dogs. Sheâs still learning the comforts of home life and needs someone steady and patient to help her keep growing. If you have the time and heart to nurture her, youâll see her loving nature blossom more every day. Your new best friend is just one click away.
