About Duke
Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Duke, the Hero! Duke is a two-year-old foxhound/coondog mix with the heart of a guardian and the soul of a survivor. Found bravely protecting two small dogs in the Everglades, he proved his loyalty and caring nature by keeping his little pack safe in a harsh environment. Now, this devoted companion is ready for someone to give him the safety and love he’s shown others. When Duke arrived at the rescue, he was frightened and uncertain, but day by day, he has started to blossom. His tail now wags with excitement and, on special occasions, he'll even give hugs. Duke thrives in the presence of other dogs and absolutely loves to chase tennis balls. He’s a quietly charming companion, house-trained, and filled with possibility, hoping to find a patient, gentle home where he can finally feel secure and treasured. If you’re looking for a devoted friend who values companionship and loyalty, Duke might just be the hero you need. Could you be the one to return the favor and protect him, as he’s done for others?
