About Chessie
Chessie arrived with Clare and Cosette from a hoarding case, having lost all her vision to glaucoma. Blindness hasn’t slowed her a bit—she keeps up with her foster mom and resident pets, confidently making her way through the house and backyard. Call her name and she’ll trot right over. Chessie adapts well to new places, loves to travel, and handles change like a seasoned explorer. Though she’s shy at first, it doesn’t take long for Chessie to warm up and become your buddy. She’s friendly with people of every age and gets along well with both dogs and cats. Cuddling is her favorite pastime; expect her to curl up with you on the bed or couch, or find her wriggling in a comfy dog bed, squeaking with happiness. Leash walks are still a work in progress—she does best with slow, short strolls as she builds confidence, especially when there are treats and encouragement. Chessie is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She’s truly looking for someone to share her cheery resilience and loving, gentle spirit. Your home could be the one she’s been waiting for.
