About Peanut

Peanut is a 2-3 year old chihuahua who was found as a stray, survived the desert, and landed in a loving foster home just before the holidays. He’s a quiet, submissive dog who clearly craves affection and a soft place to land. Peanut settles after a simple walk around the block and isn’t one to need a lot of exercise—he’s pretty content curled up or being held. Basic training comes quickly to him, thanks to his food motivation and natural smarts. Peanut’s already figured out the leash and has done very well with crate training and house training, having no accidents after his first day. He’s generally good with other small dogs and does well with those he meets on walks. While larger dogs make him nervous, he does not show aggression and hasn’t barked in his foster home. Peanut does well as an only dog or with another calm, established dog to help show him the way. He greets people cheerfully, though he’s cautious around children, but should do fine with respectful kids. Peanut is not destructive, doesn’t make a fuss, and is simply waiting for someone to give him a real home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
