Hi, I'm Sitka! I'm a 78-pound German Shepherd with a big body, an even bigger personality, and the goofiest grin you've ever seen. I'm an active guy who lives for playtime-especially if there's a tennis ball involved! I could happily chase a ball or toss my toys around all day if you let me. I'm very treat motivated and take snacks ever so gently, which makes training with me a breeze. I listen well and truly want to learn, so if you've got some experience with my breed and enjoy working with a smart, eager partner, I'll be right there with you. I might seem a little independent or reserved when we first meet, but bring a ball or a tasty treat and you'll see my sweet, playful side shine through in no time. I'll be honest-apartment life just isn't for me. Small spaces make me anxious, and when I'm stressed, I might whine, pace, or get a little destructive. What I really dream of is a busy home with a nice yard where I can stretch my legs, romp around, and burn off my energy. I can be pretty anxious in the shelter environment, but once I build a bond with my person, I become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. I'm a big, sweet, playful boy at heart, and with patience, structure, and plenty of exercise, I'll be your faithful shadow and your favorite goofball all rolled into one. My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society. All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
