Georgie is an 8-year-old Mini Poodle with the softest gray-silver curls and the sweetest old-soul energy you could imagine. Weighing just 11 pounds, this little gentleman may be small in size, but his gentle presence fills a room in the quietest, most comforting way. Georgie was found wandering a residential neighborhood, horribly matted and in need of care. Despite whatever he endured before rescue, he has remained affectionate, calm, and trusting. He’s proof that even after being lost and neglected, a tender heart can still shine through. This sweet boy is cautiously social when meeting new people, but once he knows you’re safe, he melts into cuddles and happily settles in for a nap beside you. He adores soft places to rest (fluffy beds are his love language!) and will sometimes give a tiny whimper if he can’t find the perfect cozy spot. Georgie doesn’t try to jump on furniture — likely because his vision is quite limited. He is mostly blind, though he may have a bit of peripheral vision in one eye in brighter light. He navigates his space gently and curiously, taking his time to explore during the day before returning to his favorite pastime: napping. Georgie gets along well with other dogs and has done great with a 15-year-old child in his foster home. He is crate trained and actually seems to enjoy spending time in his crate, especially at night when it helps minimize marking. He does wear a belly band due to occasional marking, and while he seems to understand that pottying happens outside (especially for pooping), he doesn’t always signal when he needs to go. He rarely requires correction and responds well to gentle verbal guidance. His ideal home will be one that understands and embraces his special needs — particularly his limited vision and ongoing potty training. He does not require a fenced yard and walks nicely on a leash. Georgie would thrive in a calm, patient home that appreciates his quiet companionship and “older dog” energy.
