He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Buddy is a bit shy at first when meeting new people, in new environments and may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’s all about affection and spoiling you with his gentle love. He truly shines as a lap dog and is happiest curled up close to his person, soaking in love and giving it right back. His energy level is beautifully balanced, not too busy and not too sleepy. Just the right amount of energy, the kind of pup who fits perfectly into your routine. He enjoys getting out for walks (and walks nicely on a leash!) but is just as content relaxing at home snuggled up next you on the couch binge watching your favorite show or movie. He’s dog-friendly and has done great with every dog we have introduced him to. He has met dogs his size and smaller and has also been around dogs twice his size! No matter the size, Buddy has shown to be a polite gentle gentleman when he meets a dog on leash and shows that same level of gentleness when meeting dogs off leash. He isn’t a super playful boy for the most part but when he does play, he has a very light-hearted bouncy playstyle that isn’t too physical. He is so cute when he is trying to get another dog to play with him because he does the cutest little play bows and will talk about it with a tiny little bark to get the other dog to play with him. Buddy is good about respecting other dogs that do not want to play with too. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s fine by Buddy too! He does not need the company of another dog to satisfy his energy needs or a pal to help him feel comfortable. He is a chill fella that doesn’t need a whole lot of exercise and he will naturally need some time to acclimate to his new surroundings. Buddy has the kind of easygoing personality that allows him to thrive in many living situations. He would do very well in an apartment or condo setting, especially with someone who enjoys daily walks and a relaxed routine. His well-balanced energy level and polite leash manners make him a great neighbor-friendly companion. He would also be perfectly happy in a suburban home with a backyard, where he could enjoy sniffing around, sunbathing, and lounging after his walks. While he’d appreciate outdoor access, he doesn’t rely on a yard to be fulfilled; his happiness comes from companionship, not square footage.
