This sweetheart, gem of a boy is everything you want—excited but not over the top about it; stoic but also silly; calm but also fun; and maximum capacity handsome. He’s a great age, past the puppy stuff and still willing to learn a few tricks. You can start by teaching him Sit. He’s highly treat-motivated, so he’ll be fun to work with. But his leash manners are already top-notch and his snuggle capabilities are beyond factory setting. He’s a born lover. He even does well with other dogs—happy, loose, playful. Just please remember that shelter dogs are under a lot of stress and giving them a few days to decompress without other animals, before introducing them to resident friend, will set everybody up for success.
