We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Winter Park | 5â6 Month Old Border Collie & Chihuahua Mix | Tiny Snuggle Bug with a Big Bounce Winter Park is a 9.5-pound black-and-white cutie who brings the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and sweet, snuggly charm. Sheâs about 75% house trained and already uses several signals to let you know she needs to go outâsheâll whine, stand by the door, or even ring a bell. She does best with frequent potty breaks (especially when sheâs awake and active), but sheâs making steady progress. On leash, sheâs impressively calm for a young pup and enjoys getting out for walks. She has done well when left home alone for 3â4 hours crated with another dog nearby, though she may have some initial barking or whining as she settles. She is still adjusting to her new environment and shows a bit of separation anxiety, but sheâs comforted when she can see her people. With patience and consistency, sheâll continue to build confidence. Winter Park has had positive interactions with larger dogs and loves to bounce around and play. Sheâs also done well with cats and has been friendly with both men and women. She hasnât met children yet. She doesnât shed much and already knows âcome,â âsit,â and âno.â She responds well to structure and boundaries and is motivated by food, toys, andâmost of allâlove. Her energy level is medium; a couple of short walks or play sessions each day, along with some mental stimulation, help her settle in nicely. She adores toys (especially ones bigger than she is), enjoys small soft treats, and loves chewing on bones. During the workday, sheâs happiest curled up in your arms or resting her head on you. When sheâs excited, she does the cutest little bounce, and sheâs always ready to roll over for belly rubs. Winter Park would thrive in a home where someone can help her continue building confidenceâideally with a flexible schedule, at least at first. Another friendly dog could be fun for her, but itâs not required. Sheâs a very sweet, slightly shy girl who simply loves her humans and is ready to grow into an amazing lifelong companion. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!
