I’m Scar, a three-legged cancer survivor. I’ve faced the worst, and now I’m ready for the best—a person to love me forever. Before I was rescued, my life was far from easy. I arrived at the shelter with a serious leg injury, which turned out to be sarcoma. The doctors did everything they could, but in the end, amputation gave me a chance to be healthy and cancer-free. My leg is gone, but I’m still me. I get around just fine, and my velvety gray fur and big emerald eyes still sparkle with charm. What I don’t have yet is someone to share my future with. I’m a laid-back gentleman who treasures the simple things: a warm sunbeam to curl in, a kind hand to nudge for pets, and a quiet room where I can watch the world go by. I open up slowly, carefully, and sincerely. When I decide you’re my person, I’ll always remind you that I’m here, and that I’m yours. I’d flourish in a peaceful home with adults and older kids who understand that calm surroundings help me feel safe. Another friendly cat would be a wonderful companion, too. I may have lost a part of myself, but I’ve never lost my capacity for trust, friendship, or joy. Surviving something as frightening as cancer has made me appreciate every small, beautiful moment even more. Every day at the shelter, I hope someone will notice me—not just my appearance, not just my age, but the whole package: my loyalty, my sweet spirit, and my readiness to give every bit of my love. I still have so much to offer, and I’m waiting for the person who will open their life and their arms to me. Could today be the day my story changes?
