Meet Sparky! Please help us welcome Sparky, an absolutely adorable 9-year-old Havanese boy who is beginning a new chapter in life. Sparky's journey to us comes with a tender backstory. He was deeply loved by his elderly mom, but due to changes in her health and a recent move into an assisted living community, she's no longer able to provide the care and home he needs. Her family lovingly reached out to us to help find Sparky the next safe, devoted home where he can continue to thrive. He'll soon be making his way from Nevada to Bend/Central Oregon, and his general interest list is now officially open for those who would like to apply, learn more about him, and potentially schedule a meet-and-greet once he arrives. If eligible, his future family will also have the opportunity to participate in our 3-day home trial to ensure it's a wonderful match for everyone. Sparky is exactly what many people dream of in a companion - his absolute favorite activity is being a lap dog. If you sit down, he's more than happy to snuggle in and keep you company for as long as you'll let him. He thrives on closeness, companionship, and simply being near his person. At 9 years young, he still has so much love to give and is ready to devote himself fully to someone new. He is currently living in a home with another 4-year-old Havanese, and they've been doing well together. This gives us confidence that Sparky may do nicely in a home with another friendly, well-matched dog, though as always, proper introductions are important. As a Havanese, Sparky's beautiful coat will require regular grooming and maintenance to keep him looking and feeling his best. Future adopters should be prepared for consistent brushing and routine professional grooming - but we think you'll agree he's worth it!
