Meet Checkers!! Checkers is a 9 mo. old bundle of flailing puppy limbs and joy!  Checkers is a curious puppy who enjoys trying new things, learning, playing with his foster sibling, going on walks, chewing bones, and ending the day curled up with you on the couch.  He loves having a dog sibling to play and snuggle with (and if you're looking for two, Carl just might be your guy). He is a smart little guy and wonderfully trainable: he's potty trained learned "sit" in a single day, and is already working on good manners like keeping all four feet on the ground and walking nicely on a leash. With his happy spirit, eager-to-please attitude, and endless affection, Checkers is going to make an incredible addition to some lucky family! Checkers is heartworm positive and currently being treated.  He also had a mass removed from his side for which we are awaiting histology results.  This boy has had an unfortunate start, but is such a wonderful, happy dog in spite of his misfortune.    If you'd like to meet Checkers, please apply at scroungydogs.com.
