Meet Candy - a sweet soul with a second chance! After spending her life giving love, Candy is finally ready to receive it!  This beautiful 10-year old Shepherd/heeler? mix has been through a lot - from wandering the streets of Houston, TX, underweight and alone, to blossoming into a happy, healthy girl in her Colorado foster home. But the sweetest part of Candy's story?  She's not just a survivor, she is a mom also.  Candy gave birth to three gorgeous puppies and has been the most nurturing, gently mama you could imagine. Candy is a very gentle, mellow and well-mannered lady, with playful bursts of energy.  Candy may be in her golden years, but she still have plenty of love - and tail wags - to give.  She is the perfect companion for a laid-back home that wants a shadow, a walking buddy, and a sweet soul curled up at your feet at the end of the day.   Candy will need a six foot privacy fence, as she is able to climb split rail and chain link. Candy was heartworm positive and has completed her treatment. She will need to be retested again in 9 months to be sure she is now negative.
