Meet Flavius, a 10 week old, 10 pound (as of 2/10), adorable Terrier mix. This delightful puppy is soft, sweet, cuddly and super loving. He is great with other dogs and friendly. Australian Cattle Dogs, also known as Blue Heelers, are tough, intelligent herding dogs bred to drive cattle across the rugged Australian outback. They are incredibly loyal and form a deep bond with their primary person. Their blue or red speckled coat and alert expression reflect their working heritage.

Adopting an Australian Cattle Dog means gaining a devoted, energetic partner who excels at learning and working. They need a job to do and thrive with active owners who can channel their boundless energy into constructive activities.

Huskies thrive in NYC winters. Their thick double coat is built for cold, and they will happily play in Central Park snow for hours. Road salt is the main concern since it irritates paws. Booties help but many Huskies resist them, so paw wax is a good alternative.

Spring

42°F to 65°F

Mar – May

Spring triggers a massive coat blowout in Siberian Huskies. Expect tumbleweeds of fur for 2 to 3 weeks. Daily brushing with an undercoat rake is essential. The Prospect Park and Hudson River trails offer great exercise as weather warms.

Summer

68°F to 85°F

Jun – Aug

NYC summers are uncomfortable for Siberian Huskies. Above 70°F they start overheating, and NYC humidity makes it worse. Walk only at dawn or after dark, provide frozen treats, and never shave their coat since it actually insulates against heat too. Air conditioning is mandatory.
