About Pepper
Pepper's story is the very definition of love, resilience, and joy. Pepper is a bright, curious 4 month old puppy bursting with energy and personality. She was born with a disability, though she has no idea she's any different. Dogs have an incredible way of embracing life exactly as it comes, and Pepper is no exception. Pepper has a malformed right front leg and an underdeveloped paw, and she will need that leg amputated. The rest of her is healthy, strong, and ready to thrive as a tripod. Her mom, Callie, survived as a stray with no consistent food or care. She lived off trash and whatever scraps people tossed her way. Somehow, she made it — and gave birth under an old shed, doing her best to protect her puppies. All of Pepper's siblings have been adopted, but Pepper needed a little more time. Pepper is currently in a wonderful foster home with two doggie friends she adores. Even better — her foster mom works for one of our amazing Vet Partners, so Pepper gets to tag along to work, enjoy doggie daycare, and soak up endless love and socialization. She absolutely LOVES it. Pepper's doctors prefer we delay her surgery until she's a little older, more physically developed and can tolerate the procedure better. All medical expenses associated with Pepper's surgery and recovery will be covered by the Rescue. We would love for Pepper to be adopted prior to surgery so her family can care for her through the procedure, recovery and rehabilitation. Special dogs deserve special families. She is a sweet blessing ♥
