About Tommie
Tommie is a young terrier mix who recently left behind a crowded southern Illinois shelter. He is about a year old, with short white and fawn fur, and thrives on human company—he doesn’t care if you’re big or small, he’ll be your biggest fan. Tommie can get a little bouncy when let out of his crate but quickly settles down, eager to please and receptive to training. He’s working hard to master the basics, including house training and crate time, and improves daily. Leash manners are still a work in progress, since his excitement sometimes gets the better of him during walks. Tommie fits easily into a home with other dogs, no matter their size, and is gentle with kids. He currently lives with a 4-year-old and happily joins in for playtime or a tea party. When not following you around with a toy clamped in his mouth, Tommie loves to snuggle up for some affection. He’s playful, affectionate, and craves attention from his people. He’ll do best with an active family—one that has a steady routine, time for daily exercise, and either children, other dogs, or both. Boredom isn’t his friend, so stimulation and play will keep him happy (and out of mischief). Tommie is spunky but still past his puppy phase, and he’s committed to being a great pet with the right support. He’s looking for a home within 75 miles of Racine, WI due to follow-up care requirements. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
