About Lucy
Meet Lucy Lucy is a 4-year-old, 10.5-pound Chihuahua who is looking for a very special, patient home. Lucy came to the SPCA in November from an overcrowding and neglect situation. She spent most of her life in a kennel and was bred for puppies. Because of her past, she arrived extremely people-shy, terrified, and very skittish. The world is still a big, scary place for her — but she is making progress every day. In her foster home over the past month, Lucy has started to slowly gain trust. She follows the pack, has begun getting up on the bed, and is even coming for treats. Her confidence grows when she’s around other dogs, and she truly blossoms by watching and learning from them. Lucy’s ideal home: • A very patient adopter who understands her backstory • A calm environment • At least one other dog in the home (preferably small breeds) • Someone willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe Lucy is: ✔ Spayed ✔ Microchipped ✔ Up to date on vaccines ✔ On flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Lucy doesn’t need perfection — she just needs kindness, patience, and a home where she can continue learning that people can be gentle and loving. If you think you could be the safe haven Lucy has been waiting for, please apply to adopt at: www.spcaeasttx.com
