About Bestest Boy Buddy
Meet Bestest Boy Buddy, a dog who has already proven his devotion time and again. Deeply bonded and slow to trust, he carries his history with him—rescued from abandonment in rural Alabama and overcoming Heartworm, he’s emerged with a gentle resilience. Now healthy and solidly affectionate, Buddy has learned to give out soft kisses, but only after years of building trust. His loyalty runs deep, and he thrives when close to people he loves. At around 7 years old, Buddy’s favorite pastime is cuddling up with his humans, and when he’s not snuggled in, he’ll be up for a game of fetch in a securely fenced yard. Buddy is fully housebroken, vaccinated, and neutered. While he gets along with other dogs, he doesn’t do well with cats. Crating is not his thing—Buddy strongly prefers to remain free and by your side, especially given everything he’s survived already. Buddy has a protective streak and prefers being introduced to new people on his own terms. Locking him in a quiet room before guests arrive helps him feel safe, and while he may bark or lunge initially, he’s never bitten anyone. He’s looking for a family or adopter who truly understands what he’s been through and is committed to helping him continue his journey to happiness. If you’re ready to offer that, Buddy’s ready to meet you. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!
