About Layla

Think you are the one? Submit an application! Layla is a beautiful 6-month-old Shepherd mix girl who has captured hearts with her resilience and gentle nature. She currently weighs 28 pounds and is expected to reach over 40 pounds when fully grown. Layla has only three legs, as she arrived at a rural shelter in Georgia with one foot already missing—likely the result of a trap injury that required a front leg amputation to save her from infection. Despite the hardship she's endured, Layla remains a survivor and is the second tripod available for adoption at the shelter. She is a docile pup with typical puppy habits like chewing but quickly settles down. Layla enjoys the company of other dogs and has a loving habit of laying her head on your lap or against you for comfort and reassurance. Her sweet and courageous spirit makes her truly special. Fun fact: as a Leo, Layla is naturally brave and loves to be at the center of attention, thriving on the affection and care of her humans. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
