About Layla
Layla is a striking 6-month-old Shepherd mix who just happens to get around on three legs. She arrived at a rural Georgia shelter missing her front foot—most likely the result of a trap injury she somehow survived on her own. The shelter acted quickly and amputated her leg before it could become infected. No one can know how tough her ordeal was, but Layla has powered through it all and is finding her feet again. Like any pup her age, Layla is into chewing, so toys and supervision are a must. Her nature is gentle and a bit reserved, but she’ll settle in next to you and rest her head on your lap when she needs comfort. She’s friendly with other dogs and carries herself quietly, looking for reassurance in new surroundings. While she’s a tripod, she does not let that slow her down. Layla is expected to reach over 40 pounds as she grows. As a Leo, Layla has a touch of courage and a heart that won’t quit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
