Hank is a German Shepherd/Malinois mix (70/30) born August 20, 2024. He came to Mikeys suffering from Parvo, but is now all fixed up. Hank’s initial greet is shock and awe as he tries to protect his people and his space. However, about one minute in, he wants to learn more about you, and will ultimately be the best cuddle bug you can ever imagine. While he will display teeth, there is no bite to follow. Hank is fully house trained. He has a rock-solid kennel recall, and with a Kong will spend time amusing himself for a couple of hours. He has a great sit and down and is always eager to learn new tricks. He is definitely food motivated. He is good on-leash when it’s just Hank and his human. When off-leash, he has a very good recall. He hasn’t quite learned what “chasing the ball” is all about, but when others are playing, he’s along for the fun. Cats seem to fascinate him, so any interactions should be closely monitored. He gets along fine with some cats. Not so well with others. His demeanor may be a little much for younger non-dog-savvy kids. He very much likes to control his territory, so when UPS comes to the door, Hank will let them know that they have to get by him first. He’s become a very enjoyable part of our family, and our pack, in just a few months. With love, consistency and training he will be a wonderful addition to your home.
