Charlie was reluctantly surrendered into rescue when his daddy passed and his mama had too many health issues to care for him in the way he had been accustomed. Charlie had every amenity a beloved, pampered pooch could have, including stroller rides, regular grooming and a basket full of clothes and toys! Charlie is 9-10 years old and 22 lbs. He embraced meeting new people and dogs at his first adoption event and seems to have a laid-back personality, happily relaxing in his stroller when he got tired. He seems to be okay with children and doesn't seem interested in cats. He loves to sleep in bed with his person, and his mama said he is potty-trained. He doesn't act like a senior and has lots of young, happy 00energy. He does resource-guard his food, so would not be best in a home with young children who can not understand that. Otherwise, we believe he will transition easily into his next home. Keep checking back for updates as we find out more about sweet Charlie. WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADOPTION FEE of $340 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
