Fred came to rescue after his owner died and his family could not take him. He seems to be adjusting to his foster home well and loves playing with his new dog friends in the home. For being 9-10 years old, Fred has LOTS of energy and loves toys and playing. When he finally settles, he also loves snuggling. He is a chihuahua mix, possibly with some kind of terrier? He did well around lots of people and dogs at his first adoption event and seems to do okay with children. He doesn't seem to care about cats. His fosters said he has not had a potty accident in the short time they have had him. Fred weighs 10 lbs, is crate-trained and walks well on a leash. Check back here or on our FB site as we find out more about Fred! WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. ADOPTION FEE of $365 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible. We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
