About Matilda Jean
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Matilda Jean, affectionately called Matty, is a small Shih Tzu mix with plenty of love to give as she enjoys her senior years. While blind and mostly deaf, she doesn’t let her age dampen her spirit—Matilda still knows exactly how to get your attention when she wants affection or needs to go outside. She communicates with adorable barks and prefers the comfort of being carried instead of using a leash, embracing her old-lady status with charm. Daily routines suit her well; she’s housebroken on a schedule, uses puppy pads in a pen when needed, and is crate trained for added security. Though fragile, Matilda Jean travels well in the car and does beautifully with other dogs, but doesn’t require a canine companion in her forever home. Her soft brown coat and signature tongue-out look make her all the more endearing, especially as she depends on wet food due to her toothless grin. Matty is simply searching for a gentle, loving family with a warm lap and plenty of “extra lovings”—she deserves nothing less as she settles into her golden years. Start your journey together!
