While he’s pretty content to let the younger dogs do the chasing in his foster home, Speedy would be happiest having all the attention on him rather than sharing with other dogs in the house. He is house-trained and follows a simple routine, briefly heading outside every few hours, and sometimes letting you know it’s time with a gentle stare at the door. If he waits at the door a little too long, he’ll release his signature little sound, that’s impossible not to smile at. He doesn’t need a crate and is perfectly well- mannered when left home alone. With just a few teeth left, he enjoys savoring wet food and thrives in a peaceful, predictable environment. This wise old soul no longer has a need to win awards or learn new or tricks, at this point in this life, the greatest accomplishment he desires, is to offers quiet devotion, gentle companionship, and the kind of love that settles deep into your heart. A peaceful household with respectful adults or older children would be ideal, especially since he doesn’t like to be startled due to his limited vision.
