About Markus
Markus is the kind of dog who wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s around two years old and has a sweetness that’s impossible to miss—you can practically feel it the moment he walks in. Markus bounced around a neighborhood for several months, cared for by a handful of kind souls who fed him, but never really given the stability he needed. Eventually, he ended up in animal control, and while well-meaning neighbors tried to claim him, they weren’t able to keep him safe or consistently cared for. He’s had his rough patches. Markus has a limp—no one knows if it’s from an old accident—and during a crowded stay at the shelter, he was attacked by another dog. Through it all, Markus kept his playful, goofy husky spirit. He loves to lean into his people, soaking up every bit of affection. Mealtime is a social event for him; he prefers eating with someone beside him and often settles in for dinner lying down. Markus gets along with both dogs and children. He’s house trained, neutered, and ready for the next part of his journey, hoping to finally land a home that sticks. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
