About Kiara
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Kiara, a senior lady with the heart and manners of a true professional good dog. This approximately 10-year-young Dutch Shepherd mix weighs around 70 pounds and embodies calm, polite perfection. She’s fully housebroken, so relaxed that a crate isn’t necessary, and she never causes mischief around the house. Kiara keeps to herself and is a low-drama companion. She lives harmoniously with both dogs and cats, and her excellent manners shine through in everything she does. Car rides are her favorite—expect to see her basking in the breeze, head out the window. She enjoys leisurely walks and is fantastic both on and off leash, always attentive when spoken to (a rare and delightful trait!). A fenced yard would be wonderful for Kiara because she loves to explore and sniff around outside—but she’s not an escape artist, just a gentle wanderer eager to come back inside for cozy naps. Since coming into rescue, Kiara has bravely handled a mammary tumor and is now spayed and tumor-free, needing only routine check-ins due to a past low-grade carcinoma. A touch of arthritis doesn’t stop her from enjoying strolls with her dog friends. She does have a preference for her paws not being touched, but she’s working on it and is always respectful about her boundaries... While she hasn’t had direct experience with children, she is described as sweet and gentle, making her a great match for savvy, school-aged kids. Kiara’s low-maintenance nature and warm spirit mean she’ll settle in easily to a loving home with plenty of soft spots for relaxation. If you’re searching for an easygoing, well-behaved dog who’s all about good vibes and peaceful company, Kiara is ready to join your family. Think you are the one? Submit an application!
