About Opalite
Opalite is a 7-month-old Terrier mix currently staying with a foster in the DC area. She’s still growing—estimated at about 25 lbs as of April, and probably not done yet. Opalite is gentle, a little shy by nature, and truly comes out of her shell with the company of a confident dog. For her, a home with another friendly resident dog is non-negotiable; she leans on their presence and learns best by example. This girl thrives on patience and encouragement—she bonds slowly, but deeply. Smart and motivated by treats, she will make training rewarding for any adopter who is willing to go at her pace. Her favorite activities are cuddling, neighborhood walkies, and playing with her toys (bones are a hit). She gets along easily with other dogs, and though she hasn’t been tested with children or cats, her foster is happy to talk through how integration could work for your household. Opalite isn’t guaranteed to be housebroken yet but is working on crate training. Opalite is ready to find a home where she can blossom, bond, and build bravery side by side with a canine friend and patient people. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
