About Peppa

Peppa and Mint are a closely bonded pair of 12-year-old Chihuahuas who have always had each other's backs. Peppa weighs in around 12lbs and Mint is about 9lbs. After their owner found themselves unable to care for them, these two ended up with Lizzy’s Hospice House where they’re adjusting to a new routine. They’re a bit shy in unfamiliar places, which isn’t surprising for older dogs, but they’re thankful to have one another. Their house training is coming along, and they appreciate having laps to settle into and hands to pet them. Peppa and Mint get along well with other dogs—though they generally stick to themselves—and they’re polite with cats and respectful around children. They can belt out a group howl when the mood strikes, enjoy leisurely walks, and are champs in the car. Both are neutered and recently had dentals and vaccines. Peppa is heartworm negative, while Mint will be starting his heartworm treatment soon (Lizzy’s covers all medical treatment, foster or adopt). They’re mellow and low-maintenance—content with comfort, a little quiet, and a bit of affection. Foster-to-adopt is welcomed, especially so Mint can find a safe place to start his next phase of care. They’re ready to meet new people and settle in for their next chapter. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
