Maggie, also known fondly as Mama, is a three-year-old, medium-sized calico and tortie mix who grew up as a stray in Puerto Rico. She spent her early days mothering kittens on the streets, but those days are behind her now that she’s safely spayed, vetted, and ready for her next chapter. Maggie is sweet-natured, easy to handle, and big on affection—she lights up for belly rubs and seeks out human attention. There’s a natural confidence about her: regal, motherly, but never overbearing. She’s social, trusting, and makes herself at home wherever she lands. Her independent streak keeps her entertained, yet she’s always nearby, likely to chirp for food when mealtime rolls around. Maggie gets along well with other cats and has done just fine meeting dogs, too. She’s gentle and unfazed by children. Staff at the vet’s office in Puerto Rico say she’s become a favorite—she even gets to roam the place as she pleases.
