Meet #Ryan Our newest shelter pup who is still trying to figure out what this big, loud world is all about. Ryan just came in, and while we’re still getting to know him, we believe he’s a young guy maybe around 2–3 years old. (guessing ) 40lbs Right now, the shelter is a very scary place for him. The noise, the chaos, the unfamiliar faces… it’s a lot. Ryan is very timid and hesitant to leave his kennel, but with soft voices, patience, and someone kneeling down to his level, he does find the courage to come out. Once he’s out, Ryan sticks close — unsure, tail tucked, carefully watching everything around him. He doesn’t seem to understand what a leash is just yet, which tells us he likely hasn’t had the best or most stable past. He also has marks on his face that suggest life wasn’t always kind to him. Despite his fear, Ryan has not shown any aggression toward the dogs around him — he’s simply scared and trying to process everything happening so fast. What we know so far: Estimated 2–3 years old Very shy and fearful in the shelter environment Warms up with gentle voices and patience No signs of dog aggression observed Has not been cat tested Because we don’t know his history, we are requesting a home with older children at this time Ryan doesn’t need perfection — he needs safety, consistency, and love. A quiet home or even a foster home would make a world of difference for him, allowing him to decompress and finally learn what it means to feel secure while we continue searching for his forever family.
