Lauren, aka LalaBelle, is a sweet and energetic dog with some quirks that make her unique! She came to PACC very emaciated but loved by everyone! LalaBelle is a vocal dog, especially when there’s a doorbell, someone walking by, or when your Chiweenie gets her excited. She also barks at people outside the house, but it's likely just her way of alerting you to things going on around her. Good with other dogs: She’s great with your Chiweenie and your mom’s Shih Tzu, though she tends to be a bit excitable and may tug on the leash around other dogs (likely a desire to play rather than aggression). Not around kids or cats: While she hasn’t been exposed to children or cats, she’s friendly with small dogs, so it’s possible she would adjust well to other pets or kids with proper introductions. LalaBelle loves being close to her human, and she enjoys being on your lap. She’s a real cuddle bug and wants to stay close to you at all times. She’s potty trained and understands basic commands like “sit,” “down,” “leave it,” “drop it,” and “no.” She’s eager to please, which likely helps her learn commands. Toys: She’s a strong chewer and loves toys, especially ones that squeak, although they don’t last long. Ropes and chew toys seem to be her go-to choices. LalaBelle developed a skin allergy, which is improving after a visit to the clinic and a change in her diet. Allergies can take time to resolve, but it sounds like she’s on the right track. She’s a good sleeper, settling into her pen at night without causing disruptions. She doesn’t wake you up in the mornings, which is great for a peaceful start to the day. She seems to thrive in a calm environment, as you mention your home is generally quiet. She has a lot of love to give! With a bit of patience and consistency, she can likely continue thriving in her home!
