About Murphy
Murphy is a four-year-old golden Labrador Retriever in Indianapolis, IN with a big heart and just as big a love for playtime. If you've got a tennis ball, rope toy, or a sturdy chew, youāre ready for hours of fetch and tug with Murphy, especially if water is involvedākiddie pools are his idea of paradise on a warm day. Though athletic and always up for a new adventure, Murphy never chews what he shouldnāt and prefers his toys tough to match his energy. Food motivates him, but heās well-mannered around peopleās meals: happy to handle the crumbs, but never pushy at the table. Heās a quick study, eager to please, crate-trained, and knows plenty of commands. Murphy enjoys lounging as much as leaping, especially if pets and a morning cuddle session are on the agenda. Heās great with other dogs after a friendly introduction, and heās played happily with three at once. Heās likely to do best in a home with older children since heās skittish with new people and sometimes sounds feisty until he acclimatesātreats tend to help him warm up. While heās lived with cats peacefully, his prey drive kicks in for small critters outdoors. Leash manners are a work in progress, and his foster thinks heād excel at agility.
