Meet the marvelous Basil Baron, an 8-year-old Bichon Poodle who has faced life’s challenges with a twinkle in his eye—literally! 🌟 This handsome boy came to the rescue from the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, where he was a lost soul, wandering without a home. Alas, Basil had a rough start. He came in with a left eye infection, and sadly, that eye had to be removed. But don’t let that break your heart, because he has adapted like a true champion! 💪 This little 19-pound miracle (he gained weight after some tender loving care!) had a bout with pneumonia and a tricky fungal infection, which required extensive medical attention. Yet, through it all, Basil showed his unfaltering spirit and determination to enjoy life! His appetite has transformed remarkably, now happily indulging in his homemade food. After all, who can say no to a little culinary delight? 🍽️ From the moment he arrived, sweet Basil was a bundle of nerves. He’d shake when picked up, afraid of getting into trouble. But don’t worry—he has found solace in the warmth of a loving hand, and some nights he snuggled up in bed for comfort. Isn’t that the sweetest? 🥰 Basil is all about playtime! 🎾 One windy day, while all the toys were secured indoors, he found three balls and transported them to his human's lap as if to say, "Let’s play ball!" He truly adores his play sessions, and it’s clear this little athlete has a heart full of joy! Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Basil has shown his sweet demeanor to his groomer, making for a perfect grooming session just last week. While Basil is sweet and affectionate, he would prefer to be the only dog in his new abode. He craves human attention like a sunflower reaching for the sun. 🌻 Yet, if a gentle female companion is around, that would be absolutely fine! Basil’s health is being closely monitored. He has a grade two heart murmur and will need to take three inexpensive medications for life, which his new family will receive through our veterinarian. Already a well-behaved boy, he’s traveled by car like a superstar and has shown he can bark protectively at the gardener and poolman—all in good fun!
