Although she is not house trained yet, she is affectionate and loyal. Currently in Longview, TX, she is a spirited young dog ready for her forever home.

Caramel is a spirited and affectionate young dog who embodies loyalty and the will to survive. Found wandering a road alongside her mother, Oreo, she learned resilience in a challenging environment. While their bond enabled them to endure tough times, it created a need for separation due to Oreo’s negative behavior towards other dogs. At around 2 years old, Caramel’s high energy and strong-willed personality show the necessity for structure and clear boundaries. Though she can be reserved initially, she warms to those who earn her trust. Her affectionate nature shines through as she cherishes hand-feeding and affection from humans. Ideally, Caramel needs a calm and experienced home with confident leadership. She is not suitable for families with small children or elderly pets. Caramel prefers being the only dog due to her reactivity toward others and strong resource guarding behaviors. Her extreme prey drive makes her unsuitable for homes with cats or small animals. She's still mastering important life skills, like leash walking and potty training, and requires an experienced handler familiar with behavior modification. While her journey may not be easy, the rewards of helping her channel her intensity into confidence make it worthwhile.
