Fillie is 6 year old Pointer, Australian Cattle Dog mix weighing just under 50 pounds, she is fostered in Houston TX and can be transported to an approved adopter. Fillie is a sweet, smart, and affectionate girl with a gentle soul and a huge heart. She adapts beautifully to her environment and the people and dogs around her, making her an easy and loving companion in just about any home. She is fully housebroken, cuddly, and eager to be part of a family. Fillie has the most endearing play style. Depending on her playmate, she can be a chaser, a tugger, a soft and gentle player, a little bouncer, or even a cheerleader encouraging other dogs to join in. Her energy ranges from mellow to playful, and she adjusts naturally to the vibe of the household. She has lived with both large and small dogs and does well with all sizes. While she can be shy at first, she is polite, gentle, and respectful when meeting new dogs. On leash, Fillie walks calmly and stays close without pulling. One small quirk is that she may lay down or softly whimper when the leash is first put on, likely from past confusion or fear. With reassurance, she does perfectly fine and enjoys her walks. She is calm when seeing other dogs on leash and remains easygoing. At home, Fillie is a dream. She is fully house trained and enjoys having free range of the house, where she loves lounging on the sofa, sleeping in bed, and following her foster around. She has done well being crated for short periods when needed and settles easily. She has no food aggression, though she loves food and should be supervised during meals to prevent her from sampling another dog’s bowl. Treats are her favorite, especially chicken nuggets, whipped cream, doggy ice cream, fries, and dog treats. Fillie is wonderful with older children and bonded closely with a 14 year old in her foster home. She would do best in a home with respectful, dog savvy kids ages 10 and up. She is extremely affectionate and loves belly rubs, cuddling, kisses, and being close to her person. Her signature move is dramatically rolling onto her back and waiting for belly rubs, which never fails to make people smile. She also loves car rides and settles in easily. Fillie thrives with another dog in the home and gains confidence from having a canine companion. While she could adjust to being an only dog, she is happiest with a furry friend by her side. She would be a wonderful match for a single adult, couple, or family with a respectful teen and another dog.
