He is neutered, house trained, and currently resides at RISE Rescue Alliance. Othello is fully vaccinated and known for getting along well with both dogs and cats. When he first arrived, he was incredibly shut down, frozen by fear and unsure about the world around him, having never known true compassion. Yet, with time and gentle support, Othello has begun to bloom, showing the remarkable resilience and spirit that lay hidden beneath his initial fear. He is now discovering the joys of play with other dogs, a happy milestone for a boy who may never have experienced friendship before. Othello thrives in the company of other canines, and his new home must have a calm, social, preferably female dog to help guide him and bolster his confidence. He takes great comfort in having a four-legged friend by his side. While Othello can be cautious, he’s very affectionate with those he trusts, leaning into gentle pets and showing a soft spot for treats. He’s learning that people can offer warmth and safety, and is blossoming under patient, loving care. Othello’s new family will need to move at his pace — at least three pre-adoption training sessions are required, ensuring his transition is gentle and supportive as he continues his journey toward trust and joy.
